Poems from Homeroom is not just one story. It has many stories’ that develops in each of the poems that are written here. It comes from poems of 5 pages to poems of 5 sentences. I notice that almost all of them were free verse poems. This book don’t just have poems, it actually teach us a lot of techniques of writing and gives us topics so we can start trying our own! Kathi Appelt, the author, writes all of these pieces in different perspectives. The poem that I liked the most was a free verse poem called “Cyber Love”, and it was two stanzas long, but both stanzas were quite long. It was about meeting people in internet, and even though it was interesting and not as intimidating, it was really easy to lie in any way.
I truly though this book was going to be more interesting. I saw that poems were simple, they were not deep, the topics were not profound, and each line didn’t lead to a universe like I had like them too. Words were really complex so I had to read it with a dictionary in hand, but I learned a lot of new words and techniques of writing.
